Macabre - Dahmer

Macabre are a pioneering death metal band from the USA. They were formed in 1985 in Chicago, Illinois, and ever since have never had a line-up change. They blend thrash metal, death metal and grindcore to form their own unique style dubbed Murder Metal. Oddly enough, although being one of the first bands ever to play death metal, their influence is not as far reaching as one would think. This is probably due to their lyrical content and humorous attitude towards songwriting. Lyrically, they have a strong focus on serial killers, mass murderers and a touch of sick gore humour.

STAMPIN' GROUND - Carved From Empty Words (2000)

Stampin’ Ground had long been a band with the vision, dedication and perseverance required to take themselves to the peak of the international metal world. Arising from a joint hardcore / metal background, they toured with the likes of Sepultura, The Haunted, Hatebreed, Anthrax, Biohazard, Arch Enemy and Sick Of It All to name a few; enabling them to reach a bigger market of both the hardcore and metal scenes combined. As one of the most threatening and active live bands around, they earned a loyal, solid following and attracted a wealth of media attention in the process.

Their success was entirely due to two things, the power and aggression with which they imbued their music, and the ability to keep a sharp eye on their all-important song-writing appeal.

Stampin’ Ground understood that audience participation is a fundamental factor in any ultimate gig experience, and frontman Adam Frakes-Sime was a master of his craft. Whilst he whipped an audience to boiling point, the rest of the band energetically covered the stage, nailing their songs down with confidence and aggression. It’s with this approach to playing live that gained them successful tours across the UK, Europe and the U.S. Soon enough their live reputation had generated enough impact internationally to be invited to play such prestigious European events as the Dour Festival (Belgium), With Full Force (Germany), Pressure Festival (Germany), Kerrang! K Fest (England), Fury Fest (France) and more notably, a main stage appearance at the 2003 Download Festival at England’s Castle Donnington.

Napalm Death - Time Waits For No Slave (2009)

The Gods of Grind are still alive, and they're here to show us how they can still kick your face in. It's not even 2009, but I'm already sure this fucker is going to be a sure contender for next year's list of my album picks.
I'm going to go ahead and say this is the catchiest, most memorable album they've made in a long time, and that's coming from a big fan of several recent Napalm Death releases, as well as the early ones. Smear campaign was a trip back to the early years of ND, and ruined your face so badly you couldn't have enough of it. Time Waits For No Slave is different, but just as as versatile. It adds some new ideas to their lately re-acquired raw style, this is most discernible in the choruses. Several songs have choruses with weird clean-ish vocals, similar to the ones sparsely found on previous albums. I think, that in an awkward manner, they fit the music perfectly. The riffs are also worthy of mentioning, since every song is chock-full of hooks.
Napalm Death are living legends of extreme metal, and they've yet to disappoint me. I don't think they have anything left to prove, but Time Waits For No Slave further perpetuates the awesomeness.

Magrudergrind - Religious Baffle CD (Self released 2003)

Another fast release here at the lost and found blog. Magrudergrind are from Bethesda Maryland and have been blasting brutal blast beat grindcore since 2002. This was their second release and it very difficult to find. For fans or relentless blast beat type grindcore. And unlike most grindcore, these guys have something to say with intelligent lyrics instead of the typical "i like blood and shit" grind lyrics.

PRESSING INFO: Self released in 2003. Their second release. Only 1000 pressed. Good luck finding it. Although you van hear this release on their discography CD.
